Recently, the Mentorship Association team together with our partners, the company Grundfos<\/a> \u2014 a global leader in water solutions, held an unforgettable event \u00abSoft skills<\/em> \u2014 your superpower\u00bb for young people, participants of the Corporate Mentorship program within the joint project \u201cPump Your Future\u201d!<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00abIt was my first time in a real office of an international company. I was impressed by how open and sincere the people working there are\u00bb \u2014 <\/em>Stas<\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This day was not just about developing skills, but about something deeper \u2014 realizing your own strengths. Because sometimes it\u2019s hard to see your own power on your own. But it reveals itself when there is someone nearby who knows how to listen, see, support, and guide. The mentors helped the teenagers feel their potential, talked about what already exists inside them, and together they created simple but important development plans.<\/p>\n

We didn\u2019t just talk, we took action! In the first part of the event, all participants took part in a fun yet meaningful movement quiz called \u00abGuess the soft skills.\u00bb Through real-life examples, they learned to recognize soft skills and respond to them with gestures. This helped create openness and break down barriers.<\/p>\n

During the practical part, teenagers and mentors completed engaging tasks aimed at developing communication, teamwork, and collaboration. One of the activities was a game in which participants had to find their pair using a code word symbolizing a certain soft skill or character trait. They had to search not through words, but through dialogue, associations, and observation. This approach helped develop not only attentiveness, but also trust in themselves and their partner.<\/p>\n

\u00abIt was really great to talk with the specialists from Grundfos! They didn\u2019t just share their experience, they truly listened to us and were interested in our ideas and goals\u00bb \u2014 <\/em>Vanya<\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

We also explored together what soft skills and hard skills are, how they differ, where they show up in life, and how to develop them gradually, without excessive pressure, at your own pace. And most importantly \u2014 each teenager had individual time with a mentor. Trust was born in these conversations. And at the end, the mentors filled out a postcard called \u00abYour Superpower\u00bb \u2014 a simple yet very personal message.<\/p>\n

\u00abI really enjoyed our joint meeting at the company office and working in pairs with mentors! It was interesting, and I discovered a lot of new things for myself\u00bb \u2014 <\/em>Timur<\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
