«7 Keys to Effective Mentoring»

The first distance learning course in Ukraine dedicated to developing and implementing mentoring programs for orphans. It was created by the Mentoring Association for Children and Youth — an organization with many years of experience in this field and one of the recognized leaders of the mentoring movement in Ukraine.

Please note: the course was developed in accordance with the regulatory framework in effect at the time of its creation. The legislation has since been updated, so in practical activities we recommend relying on the current regulations.

Who the course is for

The course is intended for specialists from government and nonprofit organizations interested in the systematic development of mentoring for orphans and children facing difficult life circumstances.

What you will gain

Upon completing the course, participants gain the necessary knowledge and skills to develop their own mentoring project or program, taking into account regional specifics, the characteristics of the target audience, as well as the goals and objectives of the organization.

Course methodology

The course is based on a unique methodology for mentoring and social adaptation of orphans, developed by the NGO «Mentoring Association for Children and Youth» taking into account the best international and domestic practices of the NGO «One Hope.».

Lecture 8. Introductory Session for CandidatesAll stages of the mentor selection process that must be completed before preparing them to meet their mentee. Lecture 9. Initial Screening and InterviewAfter questionnaires, interviews, and obtaining certificates, an introductory session is held for mentor candidates. Lecture 10. Participation Formats in the ProgramWorking with two groups of candidates — those who want to be mentors and those who want to participate… Lecture 11. Document CollectionA necessary stage of selection is collecting and providing the program coordinator with the required documents. We will discuss which ones exactly.
Lecture 12. Mentor Training CourseThe candidates have been selected — now it is time to teach them how to interact with children and teenagers. We recommend conducting a comprehensive training. Lecture 13. Signing an Agreement with a MentorFuture mentors have completed the training. Now it is time to sign an agreement to participate in the program.
