An incredible Talent Show by participants of the "Path to Success" program"

Everyone may have their own plan for how to spend the last summer weekend, but our boys, girls, and mentors know for sure — the best time is active time together! That’s exactly how the long-awaited “Talent Show” event went on August 27 at the Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation of Children in Kyiv. This time, our youth showed remarkable initiative and responsibility by independently organizing an event of this scale for the first time.

The boys and girls divided all the preparation tasks among themselves: they planned the concert program, chose music and costumes for the performances, and gathered for group rehearsals. Everyone wanted to showcase their talents and present themselves in the best possible way, so in addition to dance and singing performances, the teenagers also took on the roles of hosts, DJs, photographers, and videographers. Thanks to this, the celebration was filled with an atmosphere of creativity and mutual support, while the organizers worked together as one coordinated team.
The audience hall quickly filled with guests of the celebration — mentors, volunteers, Association partners, parents, caregivers, and the center’s children came to support the performers. The hosts began the program with introductions and presented the members of the distinguished jury, which included the director of the NGO “Vid Shchyroho Sertsia.” They prepared responsibly for the difficult task ahead: to fairly evaluate the performances and choose the very best among them.

The program consisted of 18 acts — solo and duet singing performances, choreographed dances to modern hits, as well as humorous school-themed skits. It was heartwarming to watch our children overcome their shyness and confidently win over not only the stage, but also the hearts of the audience. The hosts introduced each performance in a special way, and during breaks between acts they actively engaged the audience in a patriotic quiz.
After the final performance, all guests and participants were invited outside for a delicious snack provided by the team of our friends and partners — the KFC restaurant chain. While enjoying the treats, the children and mentors got to know each other better and eagerly shared their impressions of the Talent Show. It is through informal communication that children and adults are able to build closer connections for future one-on-one mentoring. After a short break, the participants also had the opportunity to express themselves at a creative workshop hosted by the theater school “Obraz.” It was not the first time our partners helped teenagers develop body movement skills and overcome stage fright through engaging activities. It was also a wonderful opportunity for children and adults to interact while completing workshop exercises in pairs or groups.
Our Talent Show concluded with an honorary awards ceremony for the participants and winners. The jury selected the best acts in each category and also prepared certificates with special titles for every performer — “True Gentleman,” “Bravery of the Day,” “Cool Prankster,” “True Star,” and others. As a gift from the event partners, the quest room network KADRooM the teenagers received certificates for group visits to various escape rooms. We’re already looking forward to hearing their impressions after such an adventure!

We sincerely thank everyone who joined the Talent Show and supported the initiative of our teenagers! The host of the celebration, Volodymyr, shared his impressions with us: “I’m thrilled with our show and with our talented and vibrant participants! Honestly, at first I didn’t even believe we would be able to organize such a large-scale event. But our team didn’t give up, and today we were able to enjoy such wonderful performances. A huge thank you to all the mentors, volunteers, partners, and caregivers at the center who helped us make this happen!”
Events like these give children confidence in themselves and their abilities, so we are already planning new activities for our boys and girls in the upcoming season.
We want to say to our wonderful youth: You did it! We are proud of you! We believe in you!
