On November 21, the Mentorship Association took part in the forum «Development of Mentorship as a Social Service in the Territorial Community of Kyiv.» We sincerely thank our partner — the Kyiv City Center of Social Services for the invitation! We were honored to share our experience with such a large number of people who care about the lives of children.
The purpose of the event was to:
- promote and develop mentorship as a social service;
- engage new participants in creating support services for children living in institutions and belonging to socially vulnerable categories;
- highlight the real need for mentors;
- create a space for sharing experiences among active mentors;
- build a healthy, supportive community for children in institutions;
- increase awareness among the professional community and opinion leaders regarding the practical aspects of providing services to teenagers.
The event brought together specialists from CSSC and RCSS, mentors, representatives of institutions where children live, partners from public and charitable organizations, and professionals in vocational education and social protection.
Everyone was especially inspired by the speech of Alyona Luhantseva — Assistant Program Coordinator for Mentorship Programs at the Mentorship Association and leader of the youth community «Supermentors.» Her story, sincerity, and strength of involvement became one of the brightest moments of the day.
Thank you all for this warm, meaningful, and profound time together. Together we are building a community where every child has a chance for support, care, and a person who truly cares.
