And so the first cohort of the new project METAtransition for teenagers within the «Path to Success» Mentorship Program has come to an end! The first one, because our boys and girls enthusiastically shared their impressions and asked to continue the meetings in a new cohort as soon as possible. For eight vibrant weeks, our youth and volunteer facilitators met online to discuss important topics and exchange experiences.
Project participants learned to listen to others and share their own thoughts, set goals and achieve them, better understand their emotions and bodily sensations, effectively resolve conflicts, and master many other important skills on the path to adulthood. And our wise mentors helped create a safe space for dialogue and skillfully guided the group through questions and various exercises.

More than 25 teenagers took part in the project, and in addition to group meetings, they also had one-on-one communication with mentors. At the final meeting, participants shared their impressions and insights, and the stream of words of gratitude seemed endless. All the children noticed changes in themselves — some started introducing new healthy habits, some learned to track and process different emotions, and others said they had become more confident in sharing their thoughts with others.
«I rethought many things, learned to work with my emotions, and changed my understanding of love», — project participant.
«I stopped being ashamed to talk about what I think. My relationships with people around me started changing for the better», — one of the participants.
Many of the teenagers noted that METAtransition inspired them to return to their favorite hobbies — writing poetry or playing musical instruments, while others talked about their new healthy habits, such as journaling or breathing exercises.
The connections and communication during the project are growing into friendships. One participant of METAtransition continues communicating with her mentor even after the project has ended.
We see how regular communication with mentors, engaging meeting materials, and a friendly atmosphere help our girls and boys open up and grow, so we already have exciting ideas for the future to support them in this development!
