As 2024 is coming to an end, we would like to share with you the achievements and projects that the friendly team of the Mentoring Association has been working on productively together with our partners and friends.

We will start with the largest project within the Corporate Mentoring program in cooperation with Boeing, «Taking Flight with Boeing,» which involved teenagers and young people from different regions of Ukraine. Over these 12 months, the company’s specialists not only organized an educational program but also demonstrated incredible care, creativity, and initiative, helping achieve a truly effective and long-term impact on youth from vulnerable categories. Their care for young people was evident in every small detail — from aviation lectures, where teenagers gained valuable knowledge, to workshops on creating kites and decorative panels. Creating a kite brought genuine excitement to the youth — the feeling of happiness and joy when the kite soared into the air is impossible to put into words. It became a symbol of their own rise, of how they overcame their fears and achieved success.

«I really enjoyed listening about helicopters and quadcopters, how they work, when they were created, and who was the first Ukrainian engineer to design them. But what I liked most was being a host! It was my first time being a host. It’s so interesting! These are emotions I will remember for a very long time!» – Misha
«There is so much you need to know to build an airplane! And you only told us part of the information. Thank you!» – Vlad
The planned goals of the project had a multi-level approach, which helped achieve significant results through comprehensive interaction in three areas:
Personal development – conducting events and workshops contributed to the development of effective communication and self-presentation skills, teamwork, and the building of trusting relationships. Participants learned to better understand their strengths with the support of corporate mentors.
Professional development – thanks to a series of engaging webinars, young people became more familiar with the world of aviation, broadened their horizons and knowledge about various professions, creating the foundation for successfully choosing a future career and understanding career opportunities.
«I really enjoy collaborating, helping, and diving deeper and deeper into this field with sincere and open people, thank you!» – Alona
«It was very interesting to listen, especially when they talked about the first passenger airplanes and airfields! I’m looking forward to the next lecture, already curious about what’s next…» – Nika

Social development – for young people from vulnerable categories, the ability to build trusting relationships is extremely important. And it is through projects like these that teenagers learn to build trusting relationships with corporate mentors, which gives them the feeling and understanding that «I am heard, my opinion is interesting and important!»

The project became a platform for developing practical skills for both teenagers and the Boeing team. 8 teenagers had the opportunity to try themselves in the roles of hosts, chat managers, and administrators, which strengthened their confidence and provided invaluable experience. They not only fulfilled their responsibilities but also contributed their own ideas, actively participating in organizing events. This approach by Boeing specialists demonstrated flexibility in interaction and a focus on an individual approach to each participant.
«I really enjoy communicating with Boeing employees. They are very kind, they help, and they share new and interesting things. For example, when we had online events with Boeing, they told us about airplanes, how they were created, about quadcopters and how they work. And today I enjoyed painting pictures» – Stas
«It would be great if such events happened more often» – Svitlana
