Air raid alerts, power outages, the constant threat of air attacks, uncertainty about what tomorrow will bring — these are the realities of life in Kyiv today. All of this triggers anxiety, worry, stress… It is not easy even for adults to cope with these emotions. That is why Pavlo Shulha, president of the Mentorship Association, decided to take our teenagers, participants in the Corporate Mentorship program, for some time to a picturesque place in the mountains where they could rest, regain their strength, and recharge with positive energy.

Our boys and girls had been eagerly awaiting this trip. The Kidsave volunteer team came to Kyiv to pick up the teenagers and then took them to a safe place in the mountains, where construction is currently underway for the future “Kidsave Miracles” center for children and families. It is located in a fairytale-like setting among the mountains, surrounded by forests, mountain rivers, and breathtaking scenery. For our teenagers, this is a wonderful opportunity to take a break from the daily stress of living in wartime conditions, to express their creativity and ideas regarding future projects for the center. After all, they know better than anyone else and can share their thoughts on what could be interesting and beneficial for other children. Our boys and girls also had a wonderful opportunity to join and take part in such an important project — creating a center where, in the near future, children without parental care and orphans will be introduced to and placed with loving and caring families.

Our teenagers stayed in this wonderful place for only a few days, but even in that short time they managed to get to know the Angels of Hope team better, who are tirelessly working on the reconstruction of the center’s buildings, actively helped with construction work, visited an ice rink in Lviv, went snow tubing and skiing, and most importantly — received countless positive emotions and impressions and once again realized that even if you do not know how to do something, it is never too late to learn, the main thing is the desire to do it! And this is only the beginning. Many more exciting experiences await the boys and girls, and we will be happy to share with you how our young people are spending their time actively and meaningfully.
