Strategic session
On February 4, 2025, a strategic session was held in Uzhhorod dedicated to developing a regional action plan in Zakarpattia Oblast to ensure every child's right to grow up in a family environment.
«The event brought together key stakeholders, including representatives of Child Services, Social Service Centers, and local self-government bodies of Zakarpattia Oblast. The purpose of the session was to discuss the main challenges in the field of children's rights protection and to find effective solutions to improve their well-being.
Participants were presented with updated statistical data reflecting the real situation in the region, including the number of children's institutions and statistics on orphans and children deprived of parental care.
An important stage of the session was the joint search by all participants for ways to improve services for children and their families by analyzing the needs of children who found themselves in difficult life circumstances and those living in institutions; developing a strategy to support alternative forms of family-based care (adoption, guardianship, foster families, patronage families, family-type children's homes); and identifying concrete steps to provide quality services to children.
This event became an important step in creating effective solutions so that every child can live in a family environment and receive proper social support.
Individual mentoring programs, corporate mentoring, and the Association’s original «Weekend Wonders» weekend program were presented as key tools for helping children from vulnerable categories.
