Supervision for trainers of partner organizations

On September 18–21, a training for mentor candidates was held at the Day Center for Social and Psychological Assistance in Ternopil as part of the mentor training program for children living in orphanages and institutions for children deprived of parental care, as well as other institutions focused on social adaptation and preparation for independent living.

Over the course of four intensive days, we worked very productively with 13 participants. Trainers from DiyMo and the Ternopil Regional Center for Social Services, together with a supervisor from the Mentoring Association for Children and Youth, created a safe space for learning, reflection, and open conversations.

Each participant came with their own story, motivation, and journey. It was incredibly valuable to see their openness, sincerity, and desire to better understand themselves and their role as a mentor.

This training became an important step: for some, the first one; for others, a continuation of their journey in supporting children and youth. We are especially pleased that this was the trainers’ first experience conducting a training under the individual mentoring program. We sincerely admire their level of knowledge, preparation, and commitment to the idea of mentoring, and we are ready to support them on their continued path.
