Denys met Pasha when the boy was staying at a rehabilitation center. According to the staff of the institution, Pasha and his biological brother Sasha were left by their mother at a summer camp, and she never came back for them. Soon after, she ended up in prison. The only thing known about their father is that he had been married 3 times and never took care of his children.
Pasha often came to meetings with his mentor together with his brother. Over time, Denys ended up having 2 mentees.
Before joining the mentorship project, Denys participated in projects related to helping people struggling with drug addiction and prisoners. Based on his own experience, he understood that the earlier you start working with young people, the better.
While interacting with the boys, Denys worked according to a socialization and career guidance program. The boys eagerly took part in all the ideas and activities their mentor предложed.
After graduating from the center, the boys went to live with their grandmother, and a few months later their mother returned from prison.
A new difficult period began in the boys' lives: it seemed that the mentees had forgotten everything good and valuable that Denys had instilled in them.
But over time, their friendship was restored, and Denys became convinced that all his efforts in the lives of his mentees had not been in vain. They had changed in many ways, matured, and acted according to the advice and guidance their mentor had given them.
