Anya is an incredibly talented girl who joined the Mentorship Association program «Path to Success» seven months ago. Her dream is to become a fashion designer and create corsets in an ethnic style.
Thanks to the friends of the Mentorship Association, Anya had the opportunity to study in the «Fashion Design" courses, where she enthusiastically immersed herself in the world of design, mastered the basics of collection development and fashion illustration, and gained the necessary knowledge to bring her dream to life — creating her own collection.
«The courses allowed me to learn more about the profession of a fashion designer and their role in society. During the design courses, I discovered that a fashion designer not only creates clothing, but also interacts with many people throughout the process of developing a collection and bringing it to the world. I realized that a fashion designer goes through a long journey in their work. They are constantly improving themselves, developing, and observing a lot.
I really liked the teachers’ approach to the learning process. We were not rushed and were given time to create the collection, since it is a creative and meticulous process. They also explained everything very well and shared things in an incredibly engaging way.
The courses helped me better understand my dream. I chose my own niche — corsets. I named my collection «Embroidery — the Code of the Nation». My desire is to show that embroidery can be used not only on shirts. Embroidered items can be worn in everyday life, for example on walks, to work, to parties, corporate events — anywhere.
A corset is a multifunctional item — it can be worn over a shirt, dress, T-shirt, sweater, and there are countless other combinations. And it looks cool! I was inspired by the fact that each region has its own unique embroidery details. I want to contribute to the popularization of Ukrainian cultural traditions.
I sincerely thank my teachers for their kindness and for the knowledge they shared with me. For their understanding, warmth, and patience. I am grateful to you for all the skills you gave me, for the communication. For your wisdom — deep and boundless. For explaining things so clearly! I wish you endless inspiration, may new achievements await you and may there be many joyful moments!»
Anya is currently raising funds for a good sewing machine — an essential tool for bringing her idea to life. If you would like to join in and help Anya create her own collection «Embroidery — the Code of the Nation,» write to us.
We will definitely share with you how the collection was created and show you what it looks like on models. Follow our news on the Mentorship Association website and on our social media.
