This is the story of a boy who reads a lot, knows quite a bit, has his own opinion on everything, and was already looking for different side jobs at the age of 15, relying only on himself. Even then, he understood who he wanted to become in the future. But at that time, he smiled very little and was also reluctant to communicate. Dima came to the Corporate Mentorship project reserved and serious beyond his years.
His story is special because when the boy was asked what he gained from participating in the project, he replied: «I started smiling.» And this is the most valuable result with teenagers like him, because we want our children to be happy, to smile, and to learn to trust, share emotions, and live life fully. Here is how Dima himself tells the story of his participation in the Mentorship Association project:
«Hello everyone, my name is Dima. I’ve been in the Mentorship Association’s «Path to Success» project for three years now. To be honest, I don’t know how to write biographies, especially my own. But I’ll try to briefly tell you what I gained from participating in the project. First of all, it’s the experience of communicating with different people. As cliché as it may sound, life brings us together with all kinds of personalities who are not always very friendly. That’s just how it is, and there’s nothing you can do about it. But in Corporate Mentorship, I more than mastered the difficult art of communication.
Secondly, it’s getting acquainted with various professions, going on excursions and attending different events, and the opportunity to visit different organizations. Also, meeting successful people who may serve as role models of success for some. I think I’ve gotten a bit too carried away with the lyrical side of things. Recently, I enrolled at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University in the Department of Physical Culture and Sports. My choice was influenced by my huge desire to become a teacher of historical fencing in the future, as well as the support of mentors from the Association. I hope my story helps someone and gives them motivation.».

By giving children warmth, attention, and love, together with a smile we receive much more in return. The percentage of those who go on to higher education institutions also increases significantly, because along with this, children also receive «a fishing rod to learn how to catch fish» with the support of wise mentors.
