In Search of Your Own Path: Journey, Dream, and Support

Within the framework of the project «Boost Your Future» with Grundfos a meeting took place on the topic «In Search of Your Own: Path, Dream, and Support.» It was a lively and sincere space where mentors and young people came together, sharing real stories, asking questions, and gaining greater clarity about themselves. It was a conversation about searching, choosing, and the people beside us — a moment when someone listens attentively and another dares to speak their dreams out loud.

We began by tuning in and finding a shared rhythm. Through a simple exercise with a ball of yarn, we created the thread of our story. Passing it to one another, we spoke about what our own path, dream, and support mean. Even at that moment, a sense of team spirit began to emerge from individual voices.

Everyone saw a deep analogy. Our paths intersect somewhere, run parallel elsewhere, and sometimes there is distance between us. Some are closer to their dream, while others are just at the starting point, but everyone is moving forward. And that matters.

Next came team interaction through roles. We talked about how the path to a dream consists of three dimensions.

  • The inner world and choice — feelings, values, decisions, self-belief, doubt as a form of reflection, and the intention to keep moving forward.
  • Reality, actions, and profession — steps, experience, skills, opportunities, learning, planning, and a realistic pace.
  • The people around us and the influence of our environment — support, a mentor, dialogue, a safe space, feedback, trust, and shared results.

«I really liked today’s event, even though I was in a slightly sad mood, but the support and the environment gave me strength to do many things and finish the event with a smile. Thank you so much for such a wonderful event» — Sonya.

In every team, these roles came to life. Someone became the voice of dreams and inner resources. Someone kept the focus on choice and values. Someone was responsible for concrete actions and planning. Someone strengthened the team through support and dialogue. It was the diversity of roles that created the wholeness of the story.

Round after round, we experienced dreams, obstacles, choices, and support. We were not searching for correct answers but creating a shared story. From the moment roles were chosen to the presentations, the process engaged everyone.

«I really liked the event. What I remember most was the atmosphere and support. It was interesting, and it wasn’t scary at all» — Anya.

An important part of the event was the presentation of research projects. Mentees, together with mentors, spoke about career directions, personal interests, and real steps forward. Many already have a vision and an initial action plan.

«I liked presenting my presentation, even though it was a little scary at first. I also liked how our team of four worked on the task, and everyone had their own role. We had to answer questions according to our roles, and we wrote everything down. I was the action role. And of course, how we stayed in the basement and kept presenting despite everything» — Danya.

«I liked the event and the coffee break. We laughed a lot, the yarn interactive was really cool, and I also had the opportunity to speak and talk about my segment. At first it was a little scary, but everything went wonderfully thanks to the support» — Tymur.

One-on-one meetings between mentees and mentors created space for deeper conversations about the journey, choices, and the next small step. It is in trust that the inner readiness to move forward is born.

The path can be different. Dreams can change. Support makes movement possible. Together, they form a complete journey. We thank the Grundfos mentors for their attentiveness, support, and willingness to be there throughout the process. We thank the young people for their courage to explore, ask questions, and take responsibility for their own path.
